The "City of Edinburgh" was the name of Wick's new lifeboat named two weeks before the outbreak of World War II.

This boat was one of the most sucsessful to be stationed in wick and was launched 134 times and saved 204 people.
During it's career Coxswain Neil Stewart was awarded the RNLI Bronze medal, and Motor Mechanic Wiliam Mowat received the institutes thanks on vellum.
