Motor Working 8 Hours Wind West State of Sea Smooth
In response to signal from Wick Coastguard, flares seen up to 8 miles off Ousdale. Boat was launched and proceeded to vicinity as directed. Searched in vicinity but found no sign of any vessel in difficulty or danger. Visited Helemsdale and interviewed Coastguard, then proceeded back to Wick. Boat returned to boatshed all correct.
