The crew of the oldham
In 1872 the British fishery Society constructed a permanent lifeboat shed at the harbour near the service bridge. this building was designed to allow the lifeboat to be launched direct into the river off her carriage or out through the rear doors and into the street to be lanubched from the outer harbour. the buildind was demolished in 1987 and the site adjacent in the new medical centre. the original slipway is still visable.
